Salman Hussain is the co-founder of FUSE EV, a pioneering UAE-based company that specializes in converting classic, commercial, and fleet vehicles into high-performance electric platforms. With over eight years of experience in the EV sector, Salman has led groundbreaking projects including the region’s first long-range electric VW Beetle conversion and the world’s first electric Nissan Patrol Y60, built with a 600+ hp motor, CCS2 charging, and advanced VCU architecture—laying the groundwork for autonomy-ready retrofits.
A mechanical engineer by training, Salman holds a Master’s degree from Imperial College London and has worked across aviation, construction, and electric mobility. As former Chief Product Officer at EV LAB (a Chalhoub Group venture), he played a key role in bringing electric mobility to consumers in the Middle East.
FUSE EV is now expanding across Africa and the Global South, offering modular retrofit kits that not only electrify but digitize vehicle platforms—creating a cost-effective bridge to semi- and fully autonomous operation. Salman and his team are also developing vehicle control software, diagnostic tools, and local fabrication methods that reduce cost while boosting compatibility and field-deployability.
With deep roots in the UAE and a global perspective, Salman is passionate about enabling sustainable and autonomous transport solutions that work for both legacy vehicles and future fleets in underserved markets.
